We are looking for a talented and experienced Film Editor to join our creative team. As a Film Editor, you will be responsible for assembling recorded footage, applying artistic editing techniques, and ensuring the final product meets the highest standards of quality. You will work closely with directors, producers, and other team members to understand the project’s goals and deliver a cohesive and compelling final product. Your role will involve selecting the best takes, cutting and trimming footage, adding music, sound effects, and visual effects, and ensuring the final product is polished and ready for distribution. You should be proficient in industry-standard editing software, have a strong understanding of film grammar, and be able to work under tight deadlines. The ability to collaborate effectively and communicate clearly with team members is essential. Responsibilities

  • Assemble raw footage and transfer or upload to a computer.
  • Follow a script, screenplay, or outline.

  • Improve and correct lighting, coloring, and faulty footage.

  • Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes’ value and contribution to continuity.
  • Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film.
  • Create rough and final cuts.
  • Ensure the project follows a logical sequence.
  • Consult with the director, producer, and other team members throughout the project.
  • Stay up-to-date with new editing technologies and industry trends.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Film Editor.
  • Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g., Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects, Final Cut).
  • Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio.
  • Thorough knowledge of timing, motivation, and continuity.
  • Familiarity with special effects, 3D, and compositing.
